The application period for SIAL Innovation 2024 officially began on 26th February, 2024. Exhibitors (including independent exhibitors and pavilions) who have confirmed their participation in SIAL Shanghai 2024 may log in and sign up at the “Exhibitor Center”. The application period will end on 22nd April, 2024.

About SIAL Innovation

Created in 1996, SIAL Innovation is known as the “Oscars of the Food Industry”. The international standards, global participation, and professional international jury have made this event the windvane of global food and beverage innovation. 

As an international competition certified by the SIAL Network, award-winning products from SIAL Innovation will receive international attention and recognition from the food industry while being displayed in major cities around the world, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Paris, Montreal, Toronto, New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta.

 Companies that have won awards noted they resulted in a 6.7% boost to sales.

Benefits for shortlisted and winning products

1. Gold, silver, and bronze award-winning products will be displayed in the Innovation sections of the SIAL Network from 2024 to 2025, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Paris, France, Montreal, Canada, New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta.

2. Gold, silver, and bronze award-winning products will be featured in the official video released by SIAL Shanghai.

3. Gold, silver, and bronze award winners will have the opportunity to speak at the concurrent SIAL Global Food Industry Summit of SIAL Shanghai.

4. The top 10 winners will each be highlighted with a post from SIAL’s official WeChat account after the exhibition.

5. The top 10 winners will have a media interview at the exhibition.

6. The top 10 winners will have the opportunity to launch new products on-site.

7. Shortlisted products can be displayed for free at the SIAL Innovation section of SIAL Shanghai

8. Shortlisted products will be permitted to use the “SIAL Innovation 2024” logo for free on packaging for promotion.

9. Shortlisted products will be announced by SIAL before the exhibition.

 
Requirements

1) Participating products are to be new products developed or released after May 2023.

2) Participating products must be edible processed food.

3) Applicants are required to own the intellectual property rights of the participating products. Distributors or non-manufacturer applicants must be authorized by the owner of the property rights for submission.

4) Applicants should ensure that the submitted products comply with the laws and regulations of the country of origin or country of sale.

5) Each company may apply with more than one product.


Process


Review on SIAL Innovation 2023 

An independent and authoritative jury composed of industry experts, scholars, media, and consulting agencies judged the participating products. Their evaluation of products was conducted based on the principle of selecting innovative products that bring tangible benefits to consumers. This was focused on five dimensions, namely, pleasure, health, wellness, convenience, and environmental protection. Ultimately, a total of 150 products, including many well-known brands, from China, France, South Korea, and other countries were shortlisted in Shanghai and Shenzhen. Products that won gold, silver, or bronze awards will be displayed in the SIAL Innovation section of the SIAL Network in 2024.
